Eddie has been coming to Adams-Friendship since he was 18 years old, so he is familiar with the area. I, on the other hand, have never been to this area until recently.
The weekend before 4th of July 2020, we went to the Dells for a quick getaway. The Adams-Friendship flea market was on our list of things to do and randomly picked Anchors Inn to stay the night and loved it so much that we decided to stay there for the weekend instead.
We drank coffee at sunrise; and libations at sunset, and talked about how we could do something like this everyday.
The morning we were heading home, I handed the cabin keys to the owner and said “if you’re ever interested in selling, we’d be interested”. To our disbelief, he said he was! We certainly were not expecting that response, and we did not go up to the area looking to purchase a small resort. However, there we were on the drive home talking about how we could pull it off…. the changes we would make…. could we afford it…. what we would name it…. how would we get people to come…
When we got home, we talked to our finance guy, an attorney, an accountant…and to our surprise everyone said it could be done. From that weekend on everything happened so fast, and in a blink of an eye we became business owners the last weekend in October.
We have a lot of work ahead of us to make the cabins ours; as well as to make our guests feel welcome and want to come back.
We have so many people to thank who helped us get started; Vito Lombardo for winning the “name the resort” contest. Maggie Fournier for creating our logo, business cards & brochures. Jodi Cooper for creating our website & facebook page. Our family & friends who helped us move. Everyone who listened to us tell our story and encouraged us to do this…we would not be here today without your encouragement!
We hope you love Friendship Lake and the surrounding area as much as we do.
We are open year round so there is something for everyone.
We look forward to sharing our home with all of you.
